In the Waterberg mountains these historically significant Bushman paintings were discovered centuries after the artists told their stories on rock. It was the Waterberg that protected, with equanimity, the intrepid soldiers and warriors who fought their battles and shed their blood on its hills.

Welgevonden offers guided tours to the bushman paintings at Welgevonden. During this activity you will be informed about the men who went into the trances and painted the paintings, why the paintings are painted in the different ways, how they danced for rain and much more. The Bushman Paintings will transport you back 2000 years when Welgevonden Private Game Reserve was home to the San people (Bushman).
