About Welgevonden Game Reserve | Big 5 Safaris

Set along the game-rich and malaria-free Waterberg plateau, Welgevonden Game Reserve is ideally positioned to offer the discerning visitor an unforgettable African wilderness experience. Welgevonden’s spectacularly rugged terrain encourages an impressive diversity of natural habitats with sweeping views over distant horizons. The sheer escarpment cedes to rocky gorges and winding ravines, where the Big 5 and an incredible array of fauna and flora thrive unhindered by human intervention.

Welgevonden’s temperate climate, easy accessibility, plus the fact that it limits the number of visitors allowed in the Reserve at any one time and does not permit the use of private vehicles for game viewing, make it a premier choice for up-close- and-personal wildlife encounters year-round.

The narrow track up to the towers is also accessible to sedan vehicles. Most other roads will present difficult terrain.
