Nedile Lodge is tucked away between rocky outcrops on a north-facing slope in the Welgevonden, a malaria-free Game Reserve world-renowned for its rich biodiversity, including the Big 5. Nedile Lodge can accommodate up to 10 guests in five charming thatched chalets which are raised up on wooden platforms to ensure optimal privacy and maximise the magnificent views over the Welgevonden terrain which stretches across to the striking silhouette of the Waterberg mountains.
Each enchanting en-suite chalet features a generous double bed, lounge area, built-in writing desk, fireplace, ceiling fan, indoor and outdoor showers, an invitingly luxuriant bathtub as well as a private veranda where you can soak up the tranquility of your surroundings uninterrupted. Two of the chalets can be converted into a family-friendly unit via an inter-leading entrance hall.
Nedile’s welcoming atmosphere is carried through in the understated African-themed décor evident throughout the main lodge, where the natural environment is undoubtedly the star of the show. As the Lodge is not fenced off from the main reserve, you’ll have ample opportunities to view the extraordinary diversity of bird- and wildlife that call Welgevonden home without having to venture far.

These include game viewing in open 4X4 vehicles and guided walks both conducted by experienced rangers. Back at base, you can escape the heat of the day in the refreshing rock swimming pool, a favourite spot for the resident elephants to take a filling drink. Things to see and do
At Nedile there are a variety of activities on offer for all to enjoy. Game viewing in open vehicles as well as guided walks, afford guests the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of Africa’s untamed and most majestic creatures, as well as the magnificent plant life which abounds in this region of the country. The reserve is well stocked with lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe and many other mammals, birds and trees.
Both our game drives through the untamed African wilderness and guided walks are conducted by experienced game rangers and are guaranteed to provide travelers with a new and unique view of nature and its splendor, whilst traversing undulating hills, following river courses and exploring open grass plains. After enjoying one of the spectacular game viewing activities, guests are invited to cool down in the refreshing rock swimming pool, overlooking the valley below.
Who says the day’s activities have to end when the sun goes down? Come and join us on the deck with only the flickering light of lanterns and the stars for company. Learn about the different constellations; from Orion and Taurus in the summer to Scorpio in the winter, with the Southern Cross to guide us. Understand more about the ocean of twinkling lights in the heavens above, including stories about the stars from the African perspective.
